Goodie Hack is a mashup of social good, tech, entrepreneurship and highly-skilled people. It’s, quite possibly, the coolest community service project you’ll ever experience. The Atlanta Winter 2015 edition, powered by Accelerate With Google, is an intense and fast-paced 24 hour competitive event where ten nonprofits, with a focus on under-served communities, present their top operational problems to teams of techies AND non-techies who forms teams and create websites/apps to solve them. This is your chance to save the world, found your own startup, and possibly win cool prizes.

We’re on a mission to help 50,000 people in Atlanta’s under-served communities this year, and this Goodie Hack is another step in our journey to make it a reality. The big opportunity for those participating on teams is to create an actual product that solves a pressing problem for a local nonprofit. So you’ll have an impact on the community while becoming a startup founder at the same time.

Goodie Hack is an awesome way to use your unique talents to affect positive change in under-served communities. We’re looking for techies AND non-techies: from developers to entrepreneurs, artists, educators, business professionals, everyday people and more! We’ve learned that teams with people from different backgrounds come up with REALLY cool ideas.

You’ll join six other people on a team that comes up with an idea on a web or mobile app that helps your assigned purpose-driven organization one or more of their challenges. After the event, you’ll work to get the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) version of your idea developed and in the hands of the organization within 90 days. That means you’ll actually start a company, and become an entrepreneur while making a difference in the community. How cool is that?!?!
